How do bets work?

You and your friends agree on a question, two sides, the odds, and a stake (drinks, dares, bragging rights, anything). When it's over, both sides confirm the result, and BetMate keeps the running record. Linked sports bets can settle automatically from the market's final result.

Does BetMate hold or move money?

No. BetMate never accepts, holds, or pays out money or anything of value. Any stake is a private arrangement between the people in the bet. The “paid” and “done” checkmarks are just records you keep for yourselves.

What are group bets?

Inside an event, the host or a guest posts a question with two sides. Everyone picks a side, and when it's called, everyone on the losing side takes the punishment (a drink, a dare, whatever was set). Punishments are always optional, and you can swap in a non-drinking one anytime.

Someone is bothering me

Open their profile and tap Block. They can't friend you, send you bets, or show up in your event feeds. To report a person, post, bet, or event, tap Report on it. Reports go to our moderators, never to the person you reported. If someone is in danger, call 911.

I can't sign in

Use the same method you signed up with (email, phone, Google, or Apple).
Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the login screen.
Signed up with a phone number? Request a new code; codes expire after 10 minutes.

How do I delete my account?

In the app or on the website, go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. Your email, phone, and sign-in methods are removed right away. Bets you already made stay in your friends' records as “Deleted user”. See the Privacy Policy for details.
